Sydney Johns, MHA
About / Professional Overview
I am a healthcare analytics leader specializing in enterprise data strategy, automation, and performance measurement across quality, safety, and regulatory domains. My career has focused on designing and scaling data capabilities that replace fragmented, manual reporting with governed, automated solutions that support consistent, high-stakes decision making in complex healthcare organizations.
My work sits at the intersection of data, clinical operations, and quality workflows. I partner closely with clinical, operational, and technical teams to ensure that quality measures, regulatory requirements, documentation processes, and analytics are aligned end to end. This includes modernizing workflows, so they are sustainable, auditable, and capable of producing accurate data across acute, ambulatory, and post-acute environments.
I bring experience across both provider and payer settings, with consulting work supporting health systems, health plans, and healthcare technology organizations. While my consulting engagements span analytics strategy, platform integration, and regulatory readiness, my core focus remains building durable data infrastructure and workflows that scale beyond individual programs or reporting cycles.
I am driven by clarity, standardization, and automation. My approach emphasizes strong governance, modern data architecture, and practical design that reduces administrative burden while improving performance visibility. The goal of my work is to equip executives, clinicians, and operational leaders with insights they can trust and act on with confidence.
Professional Experience
Manager, Quality and Regulatory Analytics
Prisma Health
Prisma Health is the largest integrated health system in South Carolina, serving millions of patients across a comprehensive network of acute, ambulatory, and post-acute facilities.
I lead a systemwide analytics team supporting quality, patient safety, and regulatory reporting across the enterprise. My role centers on executive-level decision support, enterprise data strategy, and the development of automated, scalable analytics solutions for complex clinical and operational programs. I partner closely with senior leaders, physicians, and operational executives to strengthen reliability, improve performance outcomes, and ensure analytics are aligned with organizational priorities.
I oversee analytics supporting CMS quality programs, Leapfrog, Joint Commission, state reporting, Vizient, AHRQ, NHSN, OPPE, infection prevention surveillance, and patient safety initiatives. I work in close collaboration with information systems and enterprise analytics teams to modernize data architecture, strengthen governance, and deliver high-value dashboards used across leadership, clinical, and operational audiences.
Key contributions include the development of enterprise scorecards, automation of high-burden regulatory and quality reporting, expansion of risk-adjusted outcomes analytics, and delivery of advanced Power BI dashboards that have eliminated hundreds of hours of manual effort each month.
Consultant, Healthcare Data and Analytics
I have completed consulting engagements for software companies, health systems, and health plans, providing strategic guidance on analytics modernization and regulatory readiness. My consulting work focuses on enterprise analytics strategy, dashboard development, workflow optimization, and digital transformation initiatives that improve performance visibility and operational efficiency.
I have supported Epic Healthy Planet implementations and assisted health plans through HEDIS accreditation cycles. Across engagements, I help organizations transition from fragmented, manual reporting toward governed, automated, and scalable analytics capabilities.
Manager, Clinical Care Experience Operations
Prisma Health
I previously led the Clinical Data Technology Integration function within the systemwide quality organization. In this role, I partnered with senior leadership to enhance performance through data automation, advanced analytics, and standardized reporting processes. I directed initiatives that improved the accuracy, usability, and governance of quality, patient experience, and patient safety data.
My work included managing enterprise survey vendor transitions, developing new dashboards and automated data pipelines, and implementing consistent processes that supported service recovery, goal setting, and systemwide quality improvement.
Additional Experience
I have held roles across clinical operations, practice management, and analytics that form the foundation of my executive-level leadership. My experience includes ambulatory practice management, provider compensation modeling, operational reporting, and performance improvement. These roles strengthened my understanding of frontline operations, clinical workflows, and financial drivers, and continue to inform my approach to enterprise analytics, physician alignment, and data-driven management.
